The role

Leads a paving crew in the field, overseeing daily production, quality and crew development.

Responsibilities and qualifications

  • Maintain extensive, hands-on knowledge of asphalt paving operations.
  • Operate all major pieces of asphalt paving equipment.
  • Train and develop crew members across all crew positions.
  • Calculate tonnage, square yardage and material yield.
  • Coordinate trucking, job setup, asphalt plant orders and subcontractors, including striping and traffic control.
  • Communicate clearly with the crew and lead effectively as the on-site point of authority.
  • Use spreadsheets and other basic computer applications for daily reporting.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
