The role
Prepares competitive, accurate bids for asphalt, concrete and grading work across GDOT, municipal and private-sector projects.
Responsibilities and qualifications
- Understand job costs and margins to support accurate, profitable bids.
- Perform quantity takeoffs for asphalt HMA tonnage, concrete and grading scopes using Bluebeam Revu or similar software.
- Conduct site visits to assess field conditions, access constraints and traffic control requirements.
- Prepare and submit complete bid packages for GDOT QRP, municipal RFPs and general contractor sub-quote requests.
- Solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers and lower-tier subcontractors, including traffic control, trucking and materials.
- Maintain an active bid log and pipeline in the CRM; track award rates and adjust markup strategy accordingly.
- Coordinate bid handoff to operations, including scope summaries and job cost budgets.
- Build and maintain relationships with GC project managers, municipal contacts and GDOT prime contractors.
